Sylvia Rouss is the award-winning author and early childhood educator who created the popular Sammy Spider and The Littlest books.

She has received the 2002 National Jewish Book Award and the Storytelling World Award for Young Listeners as well as the 2002 Sydney Taylor Honor Award for Young Readers.

Sylvia has taught preschool in Jewish Community Centers and Synagogues in Los Angeles and Baltimore since 1973. She still teaches in Los Angeles and says that she “is inspired by children in her class”.

Sylvia will be visiting Borders in Brent Cross for one hour only, to sign copies of her many children’s books. A great after-school opportunity.
