Iraqi Jews arriving in Israel in 1951
Date: Tuesday 23 October 2007
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: The Sephardi Centre - 2, Ashworth Road, London W9 1JY

Home is a 20-minute, award-winning film made in 1994 by Israeli director David Ofek. Images of bombed-out Baghdad during the First Gulf War evoke potent memories in an Iraqi-Jewish family in Israel.
Following the film, a discussion with Egyptian-born author Ellis Douek and Andy Keith, Special Operations manager at the Refugee Council, will examine the effects of uprooting and exile on the identity and language of Jewish refugees.
